Hey!
My name is Janell. It is so nice to meet you.

A Little About Me
I received a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University in 2018. In 2022, I received a Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. I am a National Board Certified Counselor, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado, and have a Colorado Department of Education School Counseling Endorsement.
I have several years of experience working in an 8-12th grade alternative school as a school counselor serving youth on a nontraditional path. I also serve youth in the Juvenile Justice System in Larimer County and have worked for non-profit organizations providing group and individual therapy. In addition, I have worked with adults, couples and families in several different capacities throughout the years.
I recognize that each individual is unique, and not all people respond to the same form of therapy. I enjoy expanding our time together outside of talk therapy by utilizing experiential therapy (going on walks, expressing thoughts and feelings through art, and other interactive forms). I involve myself in continuing education and research and pull from a multitude of treatment modalities to reach the specific needs of a client. I am an EMDR Trained Clinician and utilize this form of treatment often. An additional modality I hold consistent through most of my time with individuals is animal-assisted therapy. You can often find my therapy dog with me during sessions; however, I understand that not every individual desires this approach - we can discuss your situation further if this is you. In addition, I partake in monthly consultation and supervision to ensure my approaches are appropriate for my clients and to gather new techniques, insights, and resources.
